Viivästyksiä jäsenasioiden hoitamisessa

Hyvää alkanutta vuotta kaikille!

Uusi hallitus järjestäytyy tammikuun aikana ja pääsee käsittelemään saapuneita jäsenhakemuksia. Jos siis olet laittanut meille hakemuksen, etkä ole vielä saanut siitä hyväksymisviestiä, voit osallistua kaikkeen toimintaan muiden jäsenten tavoin jo ennen kuin hakemuksesi on hyväksytty.

Teknisistä ongelmista johtuen emme ole voineet vielä lähettää alkaneen vuoden jäsenmaksuviestejä. Pyydämme odottamaan kunnes ongelmat ovat saatu ratkaistua.

Päivitys 19.1.2019: Vian syy on täsmentynyt, ja joudumme odottamaan meistä riippumatonta korjausta. Pystymme vastaanottamaan jäsenhakemuksia, mutta hakemusten muussa käsittelyssä on ongelmia.

Hacklab.fi on mukana Disobeyssa omalla osastollaan. Tule kyselemään toiminnasta ja rakentelemaan/rikkomaan asioita.

The new board of the organisation has yet not assembled this year, and neither has handled any new member applications. If you have an application in, and not yet received any confirmation, you are welcome to join our happenings without having to wait us to handle the application first.

Due to technical problems, we have not yet been able to send membership fee messages this year. Please wait for your payment info until we have fixed the issue.

Update 19.1.2019: We need to wait for a fix that we cannot do ourselves.

New tools update and events

Christmas present for our members: we just bought a larger and heavier band saw! Please use the old one until we get this first installed and adjusted.

The manual milling machine in metal working room has reached a point where we can now announce it ready to use. We received a lot of tools alongside it, so ask Miikka or Markusjm if you need help in selecting the right one for the job. The machine can be used as an ordinary drill press for metals.

Other news:

  • more hearing protection soon arriving
  • batch order of laser cutter materials? (planning stage)
  • we’ve budgeted for buying new cleaning tools, another vacuum cleaner, first aid supplies and storage boxes

35C3 – hacklab.fi is represented in 35C3 both with Finnish infosec groups and Nordic hackerspaces.

HSF19 – Hacklab Summit Finland 2019 weekend has been announced in Discourse. The event returns to Tampere Hacklab for 2019.

Random stuff moved from other room
The hackerspace is waiting for new paint on its floors in some areas. We have already emptied two rooms in advance and moved all stuff to other locations. The electronics room and vinyl cutter etc. are not currently in use. We do not yet have the exact date when the painting will begin, but hope it will start soon.

Because of the painting and other renovation, there are currently no general Open Tuesdays until we inform otherwise. If you have the time, you can come help us with renovation, reorganizing and cleanup and other tasks on Tuesdays or other occasions. Please ask on Slack or IRC if you want to know more.

Sorry about the inconvenience. We hope that the lab will be even better than before once this all is over!

Hacklab Summit Finland 2016

We took part in the annual Finnish Hackerspace meeting in Tampere last weekend. Newly founded Hacklab Kuopio participated for the first time, Hacklab Mikkeli won the robot competition, and our club demonstrated our new member register and payments handling system. We hope to manage arranging another event this summer in Helsinki. See rest of the photos on Flickr.

Jokavuotinen Suomen Hacklabien yhteinen tapaaminen Tampereella on taas ohi. Tampereen, Turun, Vaasan ja Mikkelin läbien lisäksi mukana oli ensi kertaa osallistujia kesällä perustetusta Kuopion Hacklabista. Esityksiä oli mm. Disobey-tapahtumasta, Tampereen hacklabin LDAP:iin perustuvasta it-uudistuksesta ja Helsingin yhdistyksen uudesta jäsenrekisterijärjestelmänsä. Pixel Sisters -kuoro kävi esiintymässä heti aloituspäivänä perjantaina. Lauantaina vuorossa oli seinäkiipeilyä ja vierailu Museokeskus Vapriikissa.

Perinteisessä robottikisassa oli tällä kertaa monipuolisesti eri tavoin toimivia älykkäitä, typeriä, nopeita ja hitaita laitteita. Vaasalaisten demokratiabotti, joka liikkui kilpailun seuraajien äänestämän suunnan perusteella osoittautui yleisön suosikiksi. Nopeuskisan voitti Mikkelin robotti, joka päihitti mokiksen videokuvalla pehmeäliikkeisesti navigoivan robon nopeampien moottorien ansiosta.

Tampereen uudet tilat osoittautuivat sopiviksi tämän kokoiselle porukalle. Pihalle järjestetty paljusauna ei ollut aivan pienikokoinen sekään. Jälleen kerran hienosti järjestetty tapahtuma – yritetään saada Helsinkiin taas jotain kokoontumista kesällä!
